Invited by the 12th International Fiber Art Biennale committee, our team developed new phygital fabrication techniques to disassemble and reassemble the structure, physical behavior, and visual appearance of materials typically governed by standardized fabrication workflows.
No normal maps or displacement maps were used in the material construction. No digital cloning occurred at any stage of the process; a single file was maintained from initial conception through final fabrication. As in our previous work, the project challenges conventional assumptions about material behavior and the standards that regulate its production.
